New York realist painter Rose Freymuth-Frazier renders even the most banal subject matter with heightened expression, seen in her use of dramatic lighting and hyper-saturation of color. “Her sensuous confections veer toward the corny soft porn of romance-novel covers, but imbue the subjects with unexpected intensity,” writes Margaret Hawkins, art critic. Her figurative work focuses upon women, seen with honest accuracy, yet bestowed with a unique presence and personality. "I am interested in social presentation, artifice, and simulation as they relate to my subjects. I hope to peel away a gossamer-thin layer of reality, not just to document the real but also to reveal what might be," Freymuth-Frazier states.

Rose Freymuth-Frazier has studied with celebrated realist painters Steven Assael and Odd Nerdrum, in addition to her formal artistic training at the New York Academy of Art. In addition to her group exhibition at the Bill Lowe Gallery in Atlanta in 2007, Rose Freymuth-Frazier has exhibited throughout the United States since 2000, as well as participating in group shows in the Netherlands.
