East Coast painter Joshua Meyer deftly forms and obscures the human figure through his application of thick layers of earth-toned paint, imbuing each piece with a sense of orchestrated chaos. “Joshua Meyer’s paintings are constantly in motion. Layers emerge with each viewing, the past, present, and future combining in lush and sensual images that are as tactile as they are visual,” writes Dr. Sharrona Pearl of Harvard University.

Joshua Meyer has exhibited throughout the Northeast, including solo exhibitions at the Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art, Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts, and the Joseph Slifka Center at Yale University. His formal artistic training includes a B.A. with a Distinction in Art from Yale University, in addition to independent studies at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, and his work has been favorably reviewed in such publications as the Boston Globe, The New York Sun and The Jewish Advocate.
