Aleksander Balos is making his exhibition premiere in the southern United States in the July 2007 "18th Anniversary Exhibition" at the Bill Lowe Gallery in Atlanta. His work will be featured at the Florence Biennale in Florence Italy this December, in addition to exhibitions in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Balos studied at the School of Representational Art in Chicago and has been favorably reviewed in numerous art publications.

The work of Chicago based figurative painter Aleksander Balos clearly recalls its Renaissance and Baroque stylistic influences, while presenting qualities of the human condition that are timeless. The psychological and emotional tension present within each figure is heightened by the complex compositional arrangement, comprised of dynamic spatial interactions that build into a cyclical energy among the figures.

"The human form, nude and dynamic, enacts a universal tableau of what it strives to become, and what its circumstance demands that it remain. The artist's recourse to the nude denies a specific modern reference -- fashion would limit it in time -- and yet in his choice of content his art betrays a very current perception of experience," writes G. Jurek Polanski, Chicago art critic.
