Who is David Shapiro?

Born in New Jersey in 1947, David Shapiro would grow up to become an amazing literary critic, art historian, and American poet. David Shapiro earned his Doctorate with Distinction from the University of Cambridge and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University. His ride to fame began during the student uprising in 1968, when he was found sitting behind the desk of Columbia University's President Kirk with a pair of dark glasses, smoking a cigar. Shapiro also went on to teach at a number of educational institutes that include William Paterson University, Bard College, Princeton, and Cooper Union. David Shapiro’s first book was published when he was only 18—the first of many more to come in the future. For more information on Shapiro and other artists, visit LoweGallery.com.
