Michael David Offers Amazing Art
Born in 1954 in Reno, Nevada, Michael David—like many other prolific artists—works in New York. For over three decades, David has exhibited his work throughout the United States and has gained both historical and curatorial acclaim. Currently, his work is included in the permanent public collections of several prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He has developed his career through abstraction, a style he continues to explore; however, David has also experimented with representational painting and photography. He uses layers upon layers of paint to create textured work that has been described as resembling coral. Perhaps the most famous Michael David piece is that of the fallen toreador, which draws on the archetype of the fallen hero.
