Meditative Light in Art – Udo Noger Part 1

Udo Noger was born in Enger, Germany, emigrating to the United States in the 1990s. Currently sharing residences in the U.S. and Germany, the artwork of Udo Noger has been shown throughout Europe and North America.

Like all painters, Udo Noger works with light, but in a unique way from other painters. His desire is to create it on the canvas, void of distractions of other objects creating a piece that itself becomes light.

Udo Noger accomplishes this by layering canvases within a frame, soaking one of the layers in mineral oil, which renders it translucent.
