Historic Landscape and Contemporary Abstract – Kevin Sonmor Part 2

Kevin Sonmor has been the recipient of numerous Canada Council Grants and his artwork has been placed in many private and public collections including the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Art Gallery of Algoma in Wisconsin and the Government of Canada.

The artwork of Kevin Sonmor is reminiscent of Dutch 17th century Still Life, the Romantic German landscapes from the 19th century and the strong chiaroscuro present in works by Caravaggio. His amazing paintings present moments of realism that float disembodied through rich, luminescent landscapes.
