The Colorful Blending of History and Art – Andrew Saftel Part 1

Born in Massachusetts, Andrew Saftel studied at New England College in the UK, followed by a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Andrew Saftel spent several years in a variety of jobs that included sign painter, carnival worker, construction industry, as well as a printer at San Francisco’s Experimental Workshop.

Eventually Andrew Saftel moved to Tennessee where he became a full-time studio artist for almost twenty years. He is well known for large-scale paintings on wood panel, although he continually creates works on paper and sculpture in wood and metal.
